Congratulations to all the LRT3 “Painting The Rail Future” Art Contest Winners!
From youngsters just getting acquainted with school life all the way up to seniors with a penchant for graphic design, LRT3 inspired “Painting The Rail Future” art contest saw hundreds of submissions on the evolution of Malaysia’s rail transportation.
“Painting The Rail Future” art contest was jointly organised by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and Setia Utama LRT 3 Sdn Bhd (Formerly known as MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd), the project delivery partner of the LRT3 project.
In addition to engaging the community in the development of the LRT3 project, the art contest was also held as an event where people of all ages could come together and express their feel and touch.
We are proud to present to you the 12 winners of the art contest. The winning artworks were evaluated based on how well the artist approaches the essence of theme, it’s uniqueness, quality of artistic composition and the overall impression of the design.

Category A Winners (Age 7-12)

A rail that can travel the world in a day? Envisioned by Cheng Jun Hao, Category A's Winner. Jun Hao also envisions a future where a train can travel without a railway, decreasing the space needed as more buildings take up the space of our city.

Winner: Leong Ka Hei

The hour glass in this drawing represents the evolution of time. The LRT entering and exiting the hourglass reflects the transformation of future LRT designs. Category B winner, Leong Ka Hei's has a vision of LRT3 becoming the leader in the rail industry and venturing into sea travel where Malaysians can travel underwater and be mesmerized by the beauty of our colourful local marine life.

Category B's 2nd runner up, Cheng Jia Teck sees animal designed LRVs in the future and tubes replacing tracks where passengers will not tremble when taking the train. He sees a train where there are more space and seats for the passengers.

Taylor’s College Subang Jaya
Category C's winner, Goh Wen Sze from Taylor's tells the entire story of LRT3 with just a brush and paint. In her painting, she shows is that LRT3, by mobilizing 36,720 passengers, per hour per direction will increase travel efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and enable economic growth in Malaysia when it is completed in the year 2020.

In her painting, she shows is that LRT3, by mobilizing 36,720 passengers, per hour per direction will increase travel efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and enable economic growth in Malaysia when it is completed in the year 2020.

Category C's 1st runner up, Syahadat bin Rosli shows us how public transportation has evolved in sophistication. This artwork illustrates the tapestry of transformation of technology from various aspects in terms of the construction of buildings, vehicles, products and public transport.

Age: 26
Have you seen the paintings at Cervelo Tres, Seksyen 13, Shah Alam? Or what about the Drugs Valley mural for SK Sri Nilam? These are the works of Ahmad Syahmi, the Category D winner and his wife, Suhaibatun Hanisah. An architect, Ahmad Syahmi Ismail has a passion for all arts involving architect and is particularly interested in experimenting with designs and building forms.
